在我们的中文写作中会高频出现“拥有”、“具有”，在英语写作中注意不要简单地用have，应该尽量使用替代方式以实现表达的丰富性。
一、用with替代，例如：
Bob has a token. He can use it to access the server.
应该改写为：Bob can access the server with his token.
后一句避免了trivial 的句式……have ……也避免了赘述。
注意：“具有好的质量/性能……”应该使用with替代方式，例如“卷积神经网络具有很高的性能，所以图像识别中应用很广”应该翻译为：
With considerable performances, CNNs are widely used in image recognition.
二、用possess代替，例如：
The mere information the adversary possesses is Bob’ ID which isn’t helpful to reveal his address. （敌手拥有的唯一信息是Bob的身份，这无法从中得到他的地址。）
三、用be of 代替，特别是have value/importance/significance/quality ……例如：
Turing Machines are of considerable value/importance/significance in computation theory. （图灵机在计算理论中具有相当大的价值/重要性/意义。）
College education is of great value/importance/significance to a person.（大学教育对一个人具有很大的价值/意义。）
In conclusion, to investigate current traffic in the city is of significance for improving its transportation. （所以，调查交通流量对改善交通现状具有意义。）
特别地注意，“有历史意义”：be of historical interest。
四、用satisfy/capture 代替，特别是have properties/definitions 情形。例如：
The proposed scheme of key exchange satisfies/captures the following properties.（所提出的密钥交换协议具有（满足）如下性质。）
The new model satisfies the definition as follows.（新模型具有如下定义。）
五、用hold代替，例如：
The system permits users who hold a token to access. （系统允许拥有/持有令牌者访问。）
当然这句可以用with。
六、用own代替，但是注意own是指拥有财物，在科技写作中使用不多。
七、“拥有者”可以用holder，不建议用owner，理由同“六”。
